Recipe: Apples in the IP

My hubby treated me to an Instant Pot and I have fallen in love with the simplicity of brown rice (22 minutes on multigrain; done!), shredded chicken breasts (12 minutes from frozen or 8 minutes from fresh) but these apples have become, hands down, my favourite recipe

INGREDIENTS:
  • two cooking apples, peeled, de-cored and diced

  • 1-2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1-2 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup

  • 3 tbsp water

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place all the ingredients in the Instant Pot and close the lid, making sure the value is closed.

  2. Using the manual setting, set the timer to one minute; if you dice your apple into really small pieces, it may need less cooking time and if you use larger chunks, you may need a little more.

  3. Let the cycle run and when done, press the cancel button to stop the cooking process.

  4. I use quick release once they are done because I'm impatient. I portion the apples from the pot, into four jars.

Serves: 4

Portion fix: ½ purple
